The 2018 Pismo Vintage Trailer Rally / by Jaime Holm

We lived on the highway this past Spring haulin’ trailers to Palm Springs for Coachella + Stagecoach, stopping at events in San Diego, Hollywood, San Francisco, a lot of love stories and weddings, trailer pickin' in between, and we even made our way out to Texas for South By Southwest and Houston Rodeo! Our favorite part of the Spring (and our year) though was the Pismo Vintage Trailer Rally!

The Pismo Trailer Rally is the biggest vintage trailer rally in the world, and it's right here in our own backyard! Getting to slow down and camp and cook and goof off with over 300 of our fellow trailerites feels like Christmas morning! Over 5,000 people visit the rally every year from all over to tour the 300+ rare trailers on display! In case you didn’t make it out to the rally this year we wanted to share a few of our favorite trailers + memories with you!

A shot of our entire 2018 Pismo Vintage Trailer Rally setup! Our vintage trailer lineup this year (in order) included our 1964 Ford truck, 1940's Balkfiet, 1948 Westcraft trailer, 1948 Barrel trailer, 1937 Masonite pop-up trailer and our 1954 Aljoa trailer.

A Pismo Vintage Trailer Rally tradition: The pajama Bike Ride! Everyone gets up early, already dressed in their best PJs and we all cruise the park!

Our Saturday started with an amazing pancake + sausage breakfast hosted by our good friends at Vintage Camper Trailers and ended with a block party at the Tinker Tin camp! We even turned our 1937 Masonite Pop-up Vintage trailer into the DJ booth for the night!

Our Saturday started with an amazing pancake + sausage breakfast hosted by Vintage Camper Trailers Magazine and ended with a block party at the Tinker Tin camp! We turned our 1937 masonite pop-up into the DJ booth and bar for the night! Thanks Denny and Stuebe and Liz and Marry and Yipsy for all your help making the block party so much fun every year!

Here's a few of our favorite trailers from the weekend!

Flight camp's 1962 Holiday House Geographic Vintage Trailer - the most rare vintage trailer at the rally! Only 1-2 of them were ever known to be manufactured!
